Terms of Service

These Terms govern your use of CVScouting job listings and the resume matching workflow.

Summary

CVScouting is a job aggregator and rule-based matching tool. Listings are sourced from third-party providers and shown as summarized records. We do not provide recruitment services, do not submit applications on your behalf, and do not guarantee interviews, offers, or employment outcomes.

1. Acceptance of these Terms

By using CVScouting, you agree to these Terms, the Privacy Policy, and the Cookie Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the resume upload and matching features.

Where mandatory consumer protection law applies, those mandatory provisions prevail over conflicting terms in this document.

2. Eligibility (18+ only)

  • You must be at least 18 years old to use CVScouting.
  • Before resume upload, you must confirm both 18+ status and agreement to legal terms.
  • These confirmations are enforced server-side; upload is rejected if missing.

3. Service description and scope

CVScouting displays summarized job listings sourced from third-party providers and provides one-time rule-based matching suggestions based on uploaded resume content.

CVScouting is not an employer, recruitment agency, staffing agency, or hiring service. Applications are made on third-party source websites.

Job availability may change without notice at source. Users must verify final listing details and terms directly on the source website before applying.

4. Resume handling and storage terms

Resumes are processed temporarily and are not stored permanently. Session results are temporary. This does not create an account profile or long-term candidate record.

4.1 Retention periods and deletion

  • Resume files and extracted resume text: never stored.
  • Match result session summaries: 15 minutes (temporary local server session store).
  • sessionId in browser: session-only (sessionStorage).
  • Resume Builder draft data: until user clears browser data (localStorage only).
  • Rate-limit IP data: temporary local server storage with automatic cleanup.
  • Raw server access logs: up to 2 months.
  • GA4 analytics data: 2 months, only when analytics consent is given.
  • Support email communications: retained only as long as necessary to resolve the inquiry.
  • Provider internal infrastructure backups: 3-7 days (provider-managed, same US datacenter; not customer-accessible; not guaranteed).
  • stats-counter.json: kept while operationally necessary; reviewed periodically; deleted when no longer needed; numeric counters only.
  • Active job listing summaries: stored while available from source providers.
  • Expired listing summaries: retained temporarily as unavailable listings.
  • Expired listing retention window: 60 days, then listing status becomes removed.
  • Removed listings: no longer available and served as HTTP 410 Gone.

4.2 Processors and Third-Party Service Providers

  • Hosting provider: Namecheap (Stellar hosting plan, US datacenter).
  • Analytics provider (if consent is given): Google LLC (Google Analytics 4).
  • Email infrastructure: Zoho Mail (Zoho Corporation Pvt. Ltd.).

Processors receive only limited technical data necessary to host the service, process consented analytics events, or transmit support email.

Email communications are processed via Zoho Mail infrastructure.

No processor receives stored resume content because resume files and extracted resume text are not persisted.

Where transfers outside the EEA occur, Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) or adequacy mechanisms apply.

5. User responsibilities

  • Provide only lawful content you are authorized to use.
  • Do not upload malware, scripts, or content intended to harm systems.
  • Do not include national identification numbers (for example Romanian CNP) in uploaded resume files.
  • Do not attempt to bypass validation, consent gating, or security controls.
  • Do not scrape, spam, or abuse endpoints.

6. Third-party listings and links

Job listing details can change, expire, or be removed at source without notice. Apply actions redirect to third-party websites.

CVScouting is not responsible for third-party website availability, security, terms, privacy practices, or hiring decisions.

Expired listings may remain visible for a limited retention period with an unavailable status indicator before being removed.

7. No employment guarantee

CVScouting does not guarantee job availability, interviews, offers, or hiring outcomes. Match Score results and rankings are informational only.

8. Intellectual property

CVScouting branding, site design, and original content are protected by applicable intellectual property laws. Third-party trademarks and job content remain the property of their respective owners.

9. Availability and liability

CVScouting is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We apply reasonable care and proportionate technical measures to operate the service, but we do not warrant uninterrupted availability, error-free operation, or permanent availability and accuracy of third-party listing data.

To the extent permitted by applicable law, CVScouting is liable only for direct and reasonably foreseeable losses resulting from a breach of these Terms.

To the extent permitted by applicable law, CVScouting is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential losses, including loss of profit, loss of opportunity, or business interruption, especially where they result from third-party listings, external application processes, or events outside our reasonable control.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability for fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation, willful misconduct, gross negligence, or any liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law.

10. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or block access where there is abuse, security risk, unlawful activity, or repeated violation of these Terms.

11. Governing law

These Terms are governed by Romanian law and applicable EU law.

If you are a consumer resident in another country, you also benefit from mandatory consumer protection provisions of the laws of your country of residence where applicable.

These Terms do not prevent consumers from relying on mandatory rights or remedies available before competent courts under applicable consumer law.

12. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms to reflect legal, technical, or operational changes. The effective date at the top of this page shows the current version.
